Opening Shah & Co  in 1985 the practice has grown to almost 1,000 clients but Haren still provides services to his very first client.

Now a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the head of practice Haren is still very ‘hands on’ and has a vast personal knowledge of his clients and thrives in helping them develop their full business potential and maximise their personal wealth.

It was a very proud day in 2012 when Haren welcomed his son Jay into the practice, Jay having trained in London and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Along with the new offices in that year it was the start of a new era for the company.

The passage of time has not dulled Haren’s enthusiasm to provide a high quality and personal service to the local community and beyond to people and business both large and small. He looks forward with joy to the challenges of the future and the continued growth of the practice.

       

Sonal has been at Haren’s side since the very first day the Coventry office opened.  Coping with the long days and sometimes even longer nights, supporting him at every step she has balanced the demands of the office with home life and the bringing up of two children.

Sonal was equally proud on the day their son Jay joined the practice and the day their daughter Bijal qualified as a Doctor and began practicing as a GP.

Accomplished in all aspects of bookkeeping, PAYE and accounts preparation Sonal now concentrates on the Financial Control, Management Accounting and HR services for the Shah & Co  group.

       

David has over fifteen years of experience of Computerised Payroll, especially of the latest sage payroll software, and has gained experience of the mechanics of sick pay, maternity pay and paternity Pay. More recently he has been involved in the implementation of major digital and legislative changes to payroll such as RTI and Auto-enrolment as well as assisting with minimum wage investigations.

He has specialised in this area which he finds most interesting. In his spare time, he enjoys chess, Tennis and Some community activities connected with his local church.

Jay joined Shah & Co. in 2012 having previously trained at a family run practice in Central London where he did his article ship. He qualified as a chartered accountant in 2011 and since then has been the office manager at Shah & Co.

Kishor has started his career, in India, as a Lecturer in accountancy having Master Degree with a B.COM, M.COM, B. ED & M.ED (With Distinction)

After moving to the UK he Joined Shah & Co  in December 2001 as a Trainee Assistant Accountant but quickly progressed in Accounts preparation and Business and Personal Taxation. Kishor now manages a wide portfolio of sole-trader, partnership and smaller to medium limited company clients. Over the years, Kishor has gained broad range of experience dealing with clients in the construction industry, retail, and service industries including many Taxi and Private Hire Drivers. Although his main role is managing year end accounts preparation and Tax Returns he is always keen to meet new clients and help to prepare Business Plans and Cash Flow Forecasts. He also helps to make our practice more efficient and more productive. Always on hand to assist new employees and clients alike he believes we are nothing without our clients being successful so he strives to support them throughout the year.

Kishor is renowned for arranging delicious impromptu lunch parties in the office. Outside of the office his interests are singing, dancing, reading, writing and meditation.

Nasir joined Shah & Co in 1990 as a trainee accountant and has been with the firm ever since. He previously worked overseas for an international bank. As a trainee accountant, Nasir studied and qualified as an AAT (Association of Accounting Technician) accountant achieving Fellowship status in 1999. Nasir has gathered a wealth of experience over the years in providing general accountancy services to both individuals and business of varying sizes operating in different industry sectors.

Nirav joined Shah & Co in April 2017 having previously worked at an East Midlands based facilities management company as a management accountant. Nirav has experience in Bookkeeping, Vat returns, client portfolio management, statutory accounts preparation, management accounts, cashflow, budgeting and forecasting, personal and business tax, trust tax returns.

     

 

Graduating with a BSc in Maths Sam joined a Birmingham accountancy practice and in 1988 became Shah & Co ’s one of the first employees. His grasp of technology was instrumental in the introduction and development of computers in the company.

Sam has over 20 years’ experience working in several practices and dealing with all aspects of accounting and taxation for sole traders, partnerships & SME’s.
Much of his spare time is spent with trying to keep up with his children.

Carol has been at Shah & Co since 2002 having previously worked for over 30 years as a records clerk at Marks & Clerk, a Patent Attorney company, dealing with filings of Patents, Trademarks and Designs. At Shah & Co, Carol’s duties include credit control, dealing with due date lists for Limited Companies and VAT. Covering reception to cover when needed. She is also the Personal Assistant to the Partners. Carol ensures the smooth running of the office reception and administration procedures.

Salah, a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA, 2017), holds a BA (Hon’s) in Business Studies and an MBA in Finance. Before joining Shah & Co, Salah honed his expertise at two-respected Coventry-based practices, where he developed a comprehensive skill set in various accounting and taxation disciplines.

Kiran joined Shah and Co in September 2023 having previously worked in the Social Services and Education sector for 10 years and in Solicitors firms as a Legal Secretary. Kiran’s duties as the Office Receptionist include answering and referring enquiries to the Directors and Accountants, making visitors feel welcome by greeting them in the office, onboarding new clients and providing general administrative & secretarial support to the Directors & Accountants. Kiran also manages Mr Shah’s diary by organising meetings face to face or online.

I am a self-made, independent, and hardworking accountant with a career spanning over four decades. My journey began in 1982, and I became a fully qualified member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (FM AAT) in 1989. I joined Shah and Co in 2022 through the acquisition of Bansal and Co, bringing with me a wealth of experience and a passion for my work.

Throughout my career, I have consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence in all areas of accounting, including Accounts, VAT, and Payroll. At Shah and Co, I have thrived as a passionate and enthusiastic team player, working alongside a talented team of professionals. My dedication to my clients and colleagues has been a driving force in my professional life.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading and taking long walks, which provide me with a sense of relaxation and balance. I am proud of my accomplishments and look forward to continuing to grow and contribute to the success of Shah and Co.

Nilogini started her career in Sri Lanka as an apprentice and worked her way up to an audit senior in KPMG Sri Lanka. Following her move to England she worked in a Coventry based family run practice before joining Shah and Co. Nilogini joined Shah and Co team in September 2022 as an Accounts and Audit senior. She is a part qualified ACCA student working towards her qualification. Main role of Nilogini at Shah and Co is to assist in the audit of our own clients and the clients of our sister firm Pinnacle Accountants in Leicester. She also looks after her own portfolio of limited companies. She likes to face new challenges and is looking forward to her continued learning with Shah and Co.

Jane started her career in India as a Hotelier, and moved to the UK and was working as Front Office Manager in various Holiday Inn hotels for 23 years and joined Shah & Co from April 2022 looking for a career change. She took up to assist clients with their bookkeeping and preparation of quarterly VAT returns. She enjoys meeting clients and solving their issues related to VAT.

Outside of work, Jane is passionate about cooking and expertise in South Indian Menu.

Jerald is an IT Consultant / ICT Trainer. Involved in System & Networking / IT support in person and remote assistance.

Trained over 1000 students on IT in India. Worked for NETWORK Associates Inc., (US) and DELL Inc., (US), Tech team (Knowhow) (UK)

Currently associated with Shah & Co since Oct ’22 on a part time basis.

His role involves in digital transformation of docs, job control, Marketing & Insurance,

Sparked by her desire of problem-solving, deep interest in financial integrity and contribution to organisations’ long-term success, Brenda commenced her professional journey at a top audit firm: Ernst & Young, where she was involved in risk assessments, audit findings and offered corrective actions to strengthen efficiency. Thereafter, she joined BDO, as an Assistant Audit Manager that exposed her to regulatory compliance and quality performance.

Brenda is well-versed with applying IFRS, FRS 101 and 102, and SORP regulations. Her experience equipped her to manage a diverse portfolio including specialised construction, precision engineering, manufacturing, retail, entertainment and media, and non-profit organisations.

As an Audit Manager at Shah and Co, she focuses on audit strategies, client relationships, supervision and training audit teams, finalising financial statements and reporting to Board of Directors. 

Moreover, Brenda is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), holds an MBA with Distinction, and a BA in Accounting and Finance. Her enthusiasm for continuous development is fuelled by the need to stay ahead of regulatory changes and adhering to highest financial standards.
